Living in Florida with our gorgeous weather, there aren't many evenings that are suitable for a romantic dinner in front of the fireplace. When one presented itself recently right around Ground Hog Day, we took advantage of it.
All we need is a little snow! |
Love the paper dollies under the clear glass plates.
I think that they were a little surprised when we finally told them that their priceless "Arbé" was actually a give away from Arby's Fast Foods.
I still love the winter wonderland scene that circles the glass and it always has a place at one holiday dinner!
Battenburg Lace Napkins with snowflake napkin rings
Love to add a little green to the table. With a little ivy and ferns from the garden, can spring be far behind? |
Since Punxsutaney Phil saw his shadow this year, we are supposed to have another six weeks of winter. It has been a very mild winter here in the panhandle but I hope to have a couple more romantic meals in front of the fireplace, even if we have to run the A/C to do it!!
Sante!!

Lovely table setting, but incredible photos. Wow! You capture every sparkle and shimmer of the pristine china, crystal and silver. Please post your secrets! Thanks for sharing. ~CJ
ReplyDeleteIf all you need is a little snow, I'll be happy to send you that we're slated to get in here this weekend!!! GLADLY!!!! Plus, I'll earmark all FUTURE snow to come straight to you, too, if you'd like! :-) Very pretty table! I'm glad you got the chance to enjoy an evening in front of the fireplace. It really is one of the most romantic ways to go! Have a Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks CJ. I have been shooting with a Canon 50D. Think it was on AV setting the other day, no flash and a tripod since the exposure is longer. Luckily there is a can light in the ceiling near the table and fireplace so that added to the sparkle. Plus I am sure the reflected lights off the mirrors from all the windows didn't hurt either. Alycia, I am originally from the Finger Lakes area of New York so a little snow would be welcomed..but just for a day or so. LOL! Happy Valentine's Day to you both!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful wintery table...especially for being in Florida. We don't have snow here in upstate NY and that is NOT normal for us. I have that Arbe Crystal too....love it! ;-) Glad you had a chance for a "fireside" winter table!
