I love St. Patrick’s Day… Always have, always will. So does Chef Gar, so much so that if it falls on a week day, he takes a vacation day so we can Go Green! But the gulf coast of Florida is not a bastion of Irish so we only have a few choices when it comes to celebrating this great green feast! On Saturday, we started the day at O’Quigley’s in Destin with great Rueben sandwich and some fine Irish beer. Then it was back to Foxy’s and dinner on the dock. Our weather has been unseasonably warm and it celebrating St. Paddy’s Day out in nature was the perfect option this year.

I have quite a bit of clover in the garden right now and it was just the right touch for the grapevine wreaths. Our own little pot of gold! And I even like it in our tequila glasses…

I also found some smooth stones from the garden and added a few Irish knot stamps to them. Clover and gold glitter adds some more sparkle.

I saw a version of this from Centro Garden on Pinterest. Decided to use my “Dollar Tree” William Sonoma-style hurricanes, added a few twigs with sea glass attached at the nodes, a splash of water and some floating candles. They looked wonderful once the sun went down.

Our local Publix store had these great spider mums and Bells of Ireland on Saturday! They worked well with the grasses I had pulled for a couple more of the “Dollar Tree Hurricanes”.

I never get tired of this view. Once the weather warms up in the spring, we eat on the dock often.

Chef Gar whipped up our very first Shepherd’s Pie for dinner. Even added a shamrock in the center. My GarMan Can COOK!!

Another Pinterest addition to the dock this year. Pulled out some of those empty Spanish Cava bottles that I love, added some citronella oil, a copper fitting and wick….TADA… Our new Tiki torches. Love them and they should last much longer than the standard Wal-mart variety.
